Krishna lifted the Govardhan Hill effortlessly and the entire residents of Vrajvasis took shelter under the Govardhan Hill.

Although Indra wanted to submerge Vrindavan, he wanted to destroy Vrindavan, he wanted to inflict great pain upon the Vrajvasis but he failed.

Instead of experiencing pain the residents of the glorious land of Vrindavan were experiencing ultimate joy.

Vrajvasis always wanted to be with Krishna. And under the Govardhana Hill which Krishna was holding like an umbrella the Vrajvasis were experiencing unlimited joy. Their dream had come true. They were with Krishna and Krishna was with them.

In our life too if in difficulty we seek shelter of Krishna then the difficulty will become an opportunity to come closer to Krishna. And if Krishna comes in our life then all our sufferings will disappear just as darkness disappears when the sun rises.

“kṛṣṇa—sūrya-sama; māyā haya andhakāra

yāhāṅ kṛṣṇa, tāhāṅ nāhi māyāra adhikāra”

“Kṛṣṇa is compared to sunshine, and māyā is compared to darkness. Wherever there is sunshine, there cannot be darkness. As soon as one takes to Kṛṣṇa consciousness, the darkness of illusion (the influence of the external energy) will immediately vanish.”
