If we <strong>fail to do so, we will continue to suffer<\/strong> in this world. Prabhuji was speaking on the verse SB 11.3.31. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><a href=\"https:\/\/vedabase.io\/en\/library\/sb\/11\/3\/31\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\"><strong>SB 11.3.31<\/strong><\/mark><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-center\"><em>smaranta\u1e25 sm\u0101rayanta\u015b ca<br>mitho&nbsp;\u2019ghaugha-hara\u1e41 harim<br>bhakty\u0101 sa\u00f1j\u0101tay\u0101 bhakty\u0101<br>bibhraty utpulak\u0101\u1e41 tanum<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Translation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cThe devotees of the Lord constantly discuss the glories of the Personality of Godhead among themselves. Thus, they <strong>constantly remember the Lord and remind one another of His qualities and pastimes<\/strong>. In this way, by their devotion to the principles of bhakti-yoga, the devotees please the Personality of Godhead, who takes away from them everything inauspicious. Being <strong>purified of all impediments, the devotees awaken to pure love of Godhead<\/strong>, and thus, even within this world, their spiritualized bodies exhibit symptoms of transcendental ecstasy, such as standing of the bodily hairs on end.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Important points from the purport of SB 11.3.31<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>..by neglecting his eternal relationship with K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a, the Personality of Godhead, he <strong>commits sinful activities<\/strong> and undergoes the inauspicious result<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>K\u1e5b\u1e63\u1e47a is&nbsp;<em>aghaugha-hara\u1e41 harim;<\/em>&nbsp;<strong>He takes away the sinful reactions<\/strong> of His devotees<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>\u2026a <strong>liberated soul is always enthusiastic<\/strong> due to the appearance of transcendental ecstasy within his body<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Understanding Maya<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>All jivas want freedom from maya but we are unfortunate bound by maya, and it is very <strong>difficult to overcome from maya\u2019s clutches<\/strong>. In the previous chapters of this canto, we read that how Vasudev did yagna for getting a child. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>But later he repented that I did not pray to the Lord for liberation. So, <strong>once when sage Narada came then he said that I did not do anything for mukti, pleased guide me<\/strong>. Then Narada Muni told him the conversation which Maharaj Nimi had with the none yogendriya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maharaj Nimi <strong>asked 9 questions from the nine yogendriyas <\/strong>and each answered one question. In this chapter of Srimad Bhagavatam, 4 questions are asked and their answers given.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-purple-color\"><strong>The 4 questions<\/strong> in 3rd chapter<\/mark><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Following are the four questions asked in this chapter of Srimad Bhagavatam.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>What is the nature of maya?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>How to get freedom from maya?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is the position of Narayana?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>What is the process of karma yoga?<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Till 31<sup>st<\/sup> sloka of this chapter, we get answer to first two questions. Thess questions touches everyone\u2019s heart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Maya is very strong. She <strong>has defeated even big yogis<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Unfortunately, we do not think that we are conditioned souls bound by maya and so we try to enjoy here. And <strong>while trying to enjoy, we get caught<\/strong>. First, we should understand we are bound.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, unless we understand that we are sick, we will not go to a doctor for treatment. Sometimes a person may be admitted to a hospital, he is suffering terribly, but when you ask him, how are you? he will say, \u201cI am fine.\u201d How can one be fine in such a situation? Similarly, <strong>how can we be happy if we are bound by maya in this world.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Who is maya? <strong>She is Lord\u2019s servant.<\/strong> Lord has posted her so that <strong>she can assist the Lord in taking care of this material world<\/strong> from maintenance to annihilation. Just like you have a vehicle, and you employ a driver to drive your vehicle. So maya is like that. Lord has bound us through maya. The <strong>Supreme Lord is the cause of all causes<\/strong> &#8211;  <em>sarva-k\u0101ra\u1e47a-k\u0101ra\u1e47am<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>We have freedom to use our senses as we like<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>While creating this universe, the Lord created first 5 elements \u2013 earth, water, fire, air, ether. Then he creates 8.4 million species of life. So, <strong>jivas like us get created<\/strong>. We <strong>get body and the senses<\/strong>. And then in this world there is three modes of material nature \u2013 mode of goodness, mode of passion and mode of ignorance.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>The Lord gave two options to the jivas \u2013 use your senses for sense gratification or use it to get liberated from this material world<\/strong>. So, Lord has gives us independence. We have to decide how to use our senses.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>For example, a knife can be used for killing a person and same knife can be used by a doctor for curing a person. <strong>But sadly, jivas start using senses for enjoying in this world. <\/strong>They forget that they are soul. They consider their body everything and begin working in this world with a desire to get something.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>It\u2019s like a business, whatever we do we want something in return. In this way the jivas get entangled. And the <strong>repeated cycle of birth and death continues \u2013 <em>punarapi jananam punarapi maranam<\/em><\/strong>. We work, we suffer, we die, we get new birth and again we work, we suffer, we die, we get new birth, and it continues.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The cycle of janma mrityu, jara, vyadhi goes on. Even birth is so painful, children suffer in the womb of the mother for 9 months. <strong>Since the beginning of the creation till its annihilation, its only suffering.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So, we should try to <strong>end the suffering by using our senses in the service of the Lord <\/strong>and get liberated from the clutches of <a href=\"https:\/\/minivetsystem.com\/iskcon\/what-is-the-best-way-to-overcome-maya\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">maya<\/mark><\/a>.
